This morning, I started writing again on Take All of Me. This is taking a long time to finish what with events happening in my personal life that were unavoidable, several spanners in the works , and the simple fact that I have been trying to catch up with so many things. I have been unable to focus solely on my story.
Until today. Thank God for that. My writing has taken a different path. It has become mercurial. Take All of Me, for example is book three of the Second Chances series which started with Be Mine (Luke and Gracie's story) followed by You & I (Matt and Serenity's story which is a novella). Take All of Me is Oliver and Felicity's story that follows the aftermath of what happened in You & I. However, unlike the two that had smatterings of a romantic thriller, this next book has buckets of suspense. Something I had not anticipated. Sometimes the outlines we, storytellers, come up with do not become the final product of our books. We listen to our characters, listen to our inner voice that guides us to where the story can make a stronger impact than what we planned in the beginning. Thus the reason why I think that my writing is mercurial. I don't know how readers will see this. We authors do tend to follow a formula that readers associate us with. I have always stayed in the erotic romance side of the spectrum; but it looks like my writing is moving. Growing? Definitely. Maturing? Maybe. Only those who read my books can tell. Be that as it may, I hope that they like the twists and turns of Take All of Me, and that once the last page has been read, the story stays with them even for a little while.
